I honestly think one of the problems with modern games is that, with such enhanced graphics possibilities, too much time is spent on maximising the look of the games to the detriment of the narrative and story, which should always be the focus. We underestimate the power of our own imaginations when it comes to world-building, and sometimes a distorted and pixelated world could even be a better playground for our imaginations.
